The basic recipes
SPICY LEMONADE
- 3-4 lemons (juiced)
- ¼ cup/125ml maple syrup (grade B)
- a pinch- 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1 quart/1 litre water
- mix together
Drink as much as you can through out the day, with the mimimum being 2 quarts/2 litres.
This will keep in the refrigerator for 2 days.
When adding the cayenne pepper consider that it takes time to dissolve into solution, so the longer the lemonade sits, the spicier it becomes. Start with less and work up.
This should be pleasant to drink.
ELECTROLYTE BROTH
“Some” (quanity will depend on how much you are making) of all the organic vegetables and herbs available at the local health food store, or at least those you like.
The only vegetables to avoid are nightshades: tomato, eggplant, white/red potato, peppers.
Clean them and put them in a large pot.
Cover with pure water. The water should be 2-4 inches above the vegetables
Bring to a boil and cook until all the vegetables are tender.
Let cool and then strain off the broth.
The broth is now ready. (the remaining vegetables can be composted or consumed by others)
You can now freeze the broth in 1 cup/125ml single servings to warm up and use as needed throughout the fast. It is particularly good once day in the evening.
Note: use no salt or pepper of any kind in this.
